Bundesanleihen, commonly known as Bunds, are German ten-year government bonds. They are a key instrument through which the government of the Federal Republic of Germany finances its public debt. These bonds typically have maturities ranging from 10 to 30 years. Bunds differ from shorter-term federal bonds known as Bobl, from Bundesobligation.
